Ignition on reminder when key leaves?

Is there some kind of notification when you accidentally walk away from your car with the ignition still on? My Focus Electric would beep at me if I tried to walk away with they keys. If not, has anyone killed your battery by leaving the climate control on? Thanks.

Yes, when the Power is ON, there is a loud tone sounded for a few seconds when the smart-key fob is outside the car.

I walked away once, and did not hear the beep over the traffic noise. Problem is if you don't know the sound, and don't expect it, your mind may dismiss it and let it be ignored.

I suggest you deliberately walk away with the key in a quiet space where you can hear the soud and know what it means. It helps...

I'd like to be able to disable that obnoxious beep. After I back out of my garage at 6am I have to get out of my car TO close the garage door and I'm sure my neighbors don't like waking up to it.
