Anyone resolved "Check Electric Vehicle System" car shudders and stops?

The answer to the issue would be not to charge the battery to full. Stop charging at 90%, and you may get the battery close to 100% at the bottom of the hill. Try it. The replacement battery should be warranted for the remaining warranty time on the car - maybe you only have 1 year left?

Car stuck at dealer for 3 months awaiting warranty battery replacement (2017 Soul EV)

Thanks for that. Best thing I've watched in years (y)

Latest E400 BMS update appears to have reduced usable capacity.

I'm afraid I do not understand " by widening the voltage spread as the battery degrades to maintain the usable capacity at the same value as new." How is this widening achieved? My observations have led me to believe that, when new, the SoH is artificially understated by defining it at a lower...

Stuck in Turtle Mode After a Safety Recall

Take it back to the dealer. After the recall, turtle mode is evidence of a safety issue in the traction battery. KIA should replace the traction battery foc, but it may take a little while - you should ask for a loan car. There are several threads on this topic here.

How to use regen braking efficiently

These two statements appear to be contradictory. Could you explain further please?

    2016 Soul EV Owner here.

You're not wrong in general, but if you read Sergio's post: "My second issue is the main batteries. It used to get 100 miles in the summer and 73 in the winter. Now I get 51 miles in the summer and about 44 in the winter." and taking into account my answer specifically mentioned "for the second...

    2016 Soul EV Owner here.

For the second problem, get the dealer to read the battery SoH. If its lower than 70%, and the car is still under warranty, KIA will replace it. Read PS 548 and take a copy with you to the dealer, so that you both know how it must be done.

Should I return my 2016 Soul EV?

It's called SoulEV Spy and it's an Android app, so available from the Play Store.

    2016 Soul EV Range anxiety

Is that really so? In UK, the warranty applies to subsequent owners. I bought mine 2 years old, and the dealer has had no problem covering my warranty claims.

This is a WAG, but is your spare keyfob at home? If so, try changing its battery.

Latest E400 BMS update appears to have reduced usable capacity.

I had that braking failure once, but before the update. Same "cure". Switched off and on again and it has never returned. When in doubt, reboot the computer. I don't think the update is relevant in this case.

Latest E400 BMS update appears to have reduced usable capacity.

I have run down to 14% and recharged to 100%. Spy reports most cells at 4.12V, with a small block at 4.10V. My calculated SoH is 88.5% (Spy still reports 100%), and GoM is consistent with the eight previous records after the BMS update and the m/kWh displayed. That suggests that GoM...

Latest E400 BMS update appears to have reduced usable capacity.

Thanks. I will run down to 18% and do a 100% charge and see what transpires. I can see from my records, by comparing (for each recharge) GoM added to %charge added, that a substantial change occurred since the update and is persisting. I attributed this to apparent re-scaling of charge...

Latest E400 BMS update appears to have reduced usable capacity.

I would not be surprised if, in view of your odd GoM behaviour, you are offered a further update. The update I received is clearly different in that regard, and I suspect they have been experimenting, and have now (in my case) got their "hack" to work the way they intended.

Latest E400 BMS update appears to have reduced usable capacity.

Thanks for your post, which confirms my findings. I believe my loss of range is of the order of 14%, based on my capacity calculations, but, in my case, there is no indication of this on the GoM, as it has suddenly become more optimistic, thus showing no decrease of predicted range.

Why my Kia soul 2018 12v battery dead some time when I am park the car and go to office and other things.

The 12V battery is charged by the dc-dc converter, which is powered by the traction battery. As I said, this happens only when the car is in driving mode (start button + brake pedal). It does not matter whether the car is moving or stationary - it involves no moving parts, as the converter is...

    2015 Soul EV Transmission Flush?

That makes no sense - the SoulEV has a single speed transmission with reverse implemented by reversing the traction motor. Afaik, it is not cooled, and it certainly has no converters. As for the price, you should be able to get a replacement transmission for that! I suspect they are using AI...

Why my Kia soul 2018 12v battery dead some time when I am park the car and go to office and other things.

One thing you must not do is use any of the car's features (e.g. the radio) without being in the driving mode. By that I mean switching the car on without pressing the brake pedal. KIA calls this the accessory mode, but it uses the power of the 12V battery without recharging it. In the...

    2016 Soul EV Range anxiety

23.3 kWh/100 km equates to about 2.67 miles/kWh, which is about half of what I get, so that would support your idea that the car has been substantially powered without motion. Otoh, even if you double the predicted range to 42 km, it looks like a full charge will only take you about 60-65 km...
