    DC Charging not Working

Bad range means that you need a new battery. Everyone that I've seen who got a new battery got all the range back. It may take a couple of visits to the dealer. They update and reset the Battery Management System on the first visit, and the reset makes it display full range. Over the next little...

AVN Energy Usage Screen not showing info

I don't think it's as simple as a loose wire. Everything talks on a CAN bus and if the wires were not connected then more than that would not be working. I really don't have a recommendation here apart from talking to the dealer and hoping that you have a good dealer who knows what they are...

    DC Charging not Working

Although other cars are able to be charged from that charger, are any of them Soul EVs? I know when the Soul EV first came out there were some DC chargers that it didn't work with. DC charging requires the charger to talk directly to the BMS, and some chargers had bugs in them that needed...

    12V Battery Replacement ?

The brake system runs on 12V, you can hear it pressuring when you open the driver's door. Yes, the high voltage traction battery will charge the 12V when the car is on, but I would be very wary of replacing the 12V with one that's smaller. I thought the ICE Soul actually uses a slightly...

    Nebraska Soul EV owners!

The seat cooling is just a fan blowing. The Eco button definitely changes the cabin heating/cooling but doesn't affect the seats. However that can mean that the seat fan is pushing warmer air.

    2016 Map Update from mapnsoft.com

Almost certainly not. The 2016 in Canada doesn't have UVO, the 2020 does. That means it is guaranteed to be a different head unit as it has different hardware - the UVO interface is a cell connection. Just get the one update that enables Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and then do everything on...

Where to keep spare Smart Key?

That's not going to work. The car is going to see the smart key inside and let everyone start it. Just keep the spare key somewhere at home. If you need it then yes you will need a ride home, but it's going to stop everyone on the street from stealing the car.

    Instrument Cluster Fog Light

Here's a screenshot of that page showing the front fog cluster light is driven from the C-CAN bus, as are most of the other warning lights

    Uh-oh - Gear oil leak

I haven't experienced it myself, but that looks like a classic driveshaft seal leak.

    Instrument Cluster Fog Light

Looking at the service manual, the instrument cluster actually has very few wires going to it. One pair is C-CAN and the front fog light indicator is driven from a message on the C-CAN bus according to page 742.

Full list of updates under servicing/warranty

So there are 2 sets of things, recalls and TSBs. You should be able to search for the recalls based on the VIN, but the TSBs would need a dealer to check. Most of the things on mine have been TSBs and not recalls Off the top of my head, here's what I can remember: Accelerator pedal (early cars...

    Really dumb newbie question...

I basically always charge at home and will Level 2 charger if it is free while I'm shopping or at the library etc. I don't bother with Level 1, it's too slow and Level 3 costs too much. Around here it costs a lot more to charge then it does for electricity at home

    Really dumb newbie question...

You are OK unplugging it on Level 1&2. On Level 3 DC fast chargers you need to tell the charger to stop with an end charging button on the charger. N.B. There may be a separate emergency stop button, don't use that as while it will stop your charging it can trip things inside the charger that...

    What did new bms do?

The BMS needs to learn what your battery cells are like. It starts off showing full range but as it learns it will drop back to what was shown before. You need to drive it and charge it several times, but watch out because the predicted range is wrong. Don't get stranded somewhere far away from...

    Parking brake button

The internal pivot point on one side of mine broke just before the lockdown started. I'm still under warranty so I'm hoping to get it fixed that way by the dealer when things go back to normal.

Can not make bluetooth calls after Android Pie update

Make sure the car has forgotten the phone and the phone has forgotten the car, and only then do the pairing thing.

2016 vs 2017 differences worth considering?

I know the main thing that the 2016 has over the 2015 is a locking pin for the level 2 charger. Until you get to the larger battery there really isn't that much difference between the model years.

2016 vs 2017 differences worth considering?

Ah, yes, but that's not DCFC speed, that's the battery level at which the DCFC shuts off. Honestly by the time you have charged that far you might as well plug in to a level 2.

2016 vs 2017 differences worth considering?

I'm not aware of any differences between the 2016 and 2017. I believe both will Chademo at over 50kW if you have a 100kw Chademo DCFC in your area. The 2018's got the 10% bigger battery.

    A couple of noises?

I've definitely heard my 2016 squealing quietly in the garage after I have parked it and it's got 67000 on on it without blowing up yet!
