A BMS update resets the all the BMS counters to zero. The only reason the GOM has increased is because of this. Sometimes it takes a few complete cycles of driving and charging to get it back to a more accurate number.

Check your 12V battery. When this battery goes flat you get all kinds of weird errors.

This is wrong. The change was in 2017 to 27kWh cars. It was done to 'game' the EPA distance measure. Not really Kia's fault. It was a stupid rule. With an 80% setting the car's max range was set 10% lower. Kia's fault was not to restore the setting when the EPA dropped the rule. What Kia did do...
