    Do I have a chance?

Did you? Can you point to anyone that has?

    Do I have a chance?

Care to explain my experience then? I had more than 10 visits and had to call corporate myself to get it moved forward since the dealer was useless. Plan for the worst and hope for the best.

    Do I have a chance?

Despite that - I'd still bet money that they'll insist on needing to recalibrate the battery with the "fix" first before any battery replacement gets approved. They hold all the cards after all..

    Do I have a chance?

You're so tight on KM before warranty is up - I wouldn't risk it until it's warmer. For example while the documentation states that one of the conditions for recalibration is an ambient temperature of 10C or higher, I can't imagine they don't also factor in the temperature of the battery pack...

    Do I have a chance?

Sure, but to what lengths are you willing to go? Basically park that thing with a low state of charge and wait until the spring. You're not going to get an updated SoH until: -Outside temp is 10C or higher -You cycle the battery in a particular way to perform a battery recalibration The cycle...

    2016 Unable to Charge

Dealership was able to get a look at it today and it's the onboard charger. All in: $3200.. Out of warranty, but hopeful that I can escalate with Kia Canada and get either a full courtesy replacement, or at least them willing to cover the part. Will update.

    2016 Unable to Charge

It seems so. I was able to dig up another post on here that linked to this: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2017/MC-10119118-9999.pdf Looks like I'll be popping by the dealership later today. Yay..

    2016 Unable to Charge

As per title I noticed today that despite being plugged into my home charger and displaying the charging lights accordingly, the car wouldn't actually start charging and quits a few minutes later. No error messaged displayed, and after a few attempts I figured that perhaps with the winter storm...

2016 Soul EV: Do you say a Good Buy? Or a Goodbye?

Why resurrect a 2 year old dead thread when you've already started your own topic, only to say basically the same thing/not add anything of value to this thread? Can we not? Thanks.

    IMHO Lease and NEVER buy

First: trade-In value means very little, frankly. Sure they'll give you $10,000, but that doesn't mean the value is $10,000 - go look on AutoTrader if you don't believe me. Anyone will buy it for that price and flip it - why don't you? Easy $5000 there. Second: the 2016 Kia Soul EV models all...

Range for Fully Charged(?) 2017 Soul

They should have reset your BMS after they installed the new battery but either didn't because following instructions is hard  , or because they ran out of time - as was the excuse from my dealer when they changed my battery out. It'll update once you've discharged and charged the battery...

    Preheating, on EVSE?

I'm honestly not aware of such a feature working with our cars other than the built-in timer, or the app which never was an option for Canadian Souls. Perhaps there's been progress with that one app, I do recall something like that myself, but I thought they hit a wall which they couldn't scale...

Bosch charger fried and 2016 will not charge

Warranty is 8 years/160,000km so I wouldn't worry unless you're beyond the mileage limit - even then..

Trying to implement EV battery claim (updated w/ soulEV info)

I'm doubtful of that SoH reading unless the dealership did a battery calibration, which I've never heard of a single story of.. Basically you need to charge to full, discharge to ~10% and then fully charge to perform a battery calibration (when it's above 10C). If your habits don't fit within...

    Battery replacement woes

If you want the quickest way to do this: Check that the outside temp is above 10C and will be for awhile (like a day or two) Check that your battery pack is also above 10C (OBD2 reader & Torque or SoulSpy needed) Charge to 100% Discharge to 10% (no charging in between) Charge to 100% (no...

Trying to implement EV battery claim (updated w/ soulEV info)

Doubtful they'll have a battery ready for you, mine took over a month to arrive once they approved my replacement - and it took awhile and several visits to get them to do that.. Hopefully your experience proves to be less painful than mine or others.

Can't find certified Soul Ev. 5 mile commute make it unnecessary?

I'd be wary of anything a dealer says. For example, the local dealership near me had a 2018 ex-Taxi for sale and according to them it had warranty. Meanwhile the 2016 I was looking at elsewhere didn't according to my local dealer. Why? It had been used as a taxi prior.. When I asked him to...

Alternative tires to NEXEN N Blue EV

Mine is currently riding on a complete set of Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus. Not sure how they compare to the Nexen's but I've never had any problems or complaints.

    Issues after recent recall/software update

Sounds silly but, have you or they checked the 12V battery? Often issues like this whether EV or Hybrid, that's the problem.

The origin of the 'B' mode setting.

There is a "school of thought" that suggests there being more battery degradation due to aggressive/high levels of regenerative braking. Personally I could see how such extremes could be a factor in battery life, but worrying about every little aspect gets in the way of enjoying it. I'd imagine...
