Battery Recall for cars with E400 high-voltage battery.

Has anyone else experienced premature DC fast charging taper with the software update? Unfortunately I didn't have OBD reader with me but pre-software update it would maintain full speed at 50kW charger until 78%. Yesterday I fast charged and it started at ~47kW but dropped to ~35kW at closer...

Battery Recall for cars with E400 high-voltage battery.

Exactly. There is a chance that the software update is working exactly as it should and detecting batteries that is defective and is at risk of a fire regardless of if it was driving fine pre-update. I also have a Bolt that went through several rounds of recall including software upgrade...

Battery Recall for cars with E400 high-voltage battery.

Thanks JejuSoul. Interesting that in all three cases, the damage was limited to within the HV pack and didn’t spread. In Chevy Bolt case, few cars burned down to the ground in thermal runaway which made the incidents super dangerous.

Is there a place where these fires are being tracked that I can look at? I remember when my Chevy Bolt was affected by the battery fire recall, someone created a spread sheet with link references for each fire incident on a Bolt forum.

It’s also good idea to get it done from insurance perspective. If on the rare chance that your car catches fire and the insurance sees that you didn’t get the recall done, they may argue you didn’t maintain your vehicle according to your car manufacturer’s recommendation.

Had a chance to hook it up to Torque after several charge cycles. No obvious changes I can spot. Range guess-o-meter seems lower but it has gotten colder so not putting too much weight on it. Still getting around 150km in winter (30kwh pack).

Nice! Do you know if you got a new pack or a reassembled one? Was it 30kwh?

Got the update done today. The upgrade itself took about half an hour. The worksheet just says: "BMS S/W UPGRADE RE performed BMS S/W update complete" No noticeable change but haven't had a chance to look at Soul Spy or Torque yet. Will do that tonight.

Canada - Kia Soul EV 2018. I got the letter as well. I also went through battery recall with my Chevy Bolt. I'm really hoping that this doesn't go through the similar rounds of software fixes before the battery finally getting replaced.

Slow level 2 charging and high OBC water temp

Thanks for confirming this isn't normal behaviour. I am due for my 1 year checkup so I'll bring it to the dealerships attention. I wonder if this is what happened to others who had OBC coolant leaks...

    Voltage vs Displayed SoC %

I've gotten good value from this community over the last year so I thought I'd contribute back in a small way. I've been charting average cell voltage vs displayed SoC % over the last year and here is what I've gathered so far: Hopefully someone finds it useful :) Andrew Kia Soul EV 2018 30kWh

Slow level 2 charging and high OBC water temp

Hello, I am wondering if anyone else has problems with slow level 2 charging. I have a 7kW charger which my wife's Chevy Bolt fully utilises every time. However my Kia Soul EV 2018 30kWh model sometimes charges at 6.6kW but other times charges at much lower speeds. Here is an example...
