Replacing the single cells in the battery pack?

These are my self-made cables for the battery connection that sits next to the car, to check how good it is and will the car accept it before I start installing it. 🤣. The real DIY

Replacing the single cells in the battery pack?

We can agree that the BMS stops charging the cells when they (or at least one of them) reach 4.1V My car this morning showed 95% and the graph showed 4.08V on all cells (as shown on the photo/graph). That is very positive because then they are all almost the same capacity, let me remind you that...

Replacing the single cells in the battery pack?

As we can see on this same graph, other cells when stopped the journey stabilized at around 3.5V. They all lost 0,3V. If I made journey off only 20km with 0.3V dropping, my car could make more than that if I had something to put instead of cell 1 in January.

Replacing the single cells in the battery pack?

What you are seeing on this graph above is situations on the end of life of my old battery. Red is number 1 cell which provoked turtle mode. Green is number 2 and was as good as all other cells except for maybe no 96 with minimal difference. Battery was “full” 100% but capacity was far from...

Replacing the single cells in the battery pack?

Thanks Jeju, Yes, my old battery pack has the heaters and the new one doesn’t. Now I now that my old cells (individual) have 37.5Ah, which means that the CELLS (2 cells in parallel which BMS recognizes as one) have 75Ah. New battery than has CELLS of 80Ah (2 times 40Ah cells). From here I can...

Replacing the single cells in the battery pack?

Sorry Markinson, as long as I own my Kia I’ll selfishly keep them all, 🤣, took 10 months for them to fall in my lap 😀.

Replacing the single cells in the battery pack?

I’ll repost my question from different thread… « Hi, I have one quick question. Can someone compare this 2 cells E4050 from Kia 2015 E4300 from Kia 2018 My understanding is that they are same capacity 40 Ah, and if that is true, are they compatible to put together? Thanks «

Replacing the single cells in the battery pack?

Today was my first day driving to work and back home. 47.5 km in one direction towards work from an altitude of 850m to 600m. Of that, 45 km on the highway: The battery was at 85% and the estimated range was 153km, cells at 3.98V When I got to work: The battery was at 64% and the predicted range...

Replacing the single cells in the battery pack?

Yes Jeju, it was the same internet site from Indonesia, but battery was supposed to come from Malaysia, at least that was my tracking details showing. It’s still offering Kia batteries 🤔. It would be good laugh if I come one day home and find new battery on my parking. 🤣🤣

Replacing the single cells in the battery pack?

…I decided to order this battery from Malaysia, but after exchanging several emails, I came to conclusion that it was probably 50/50 a scam. So I paid through Paypal to have at least some protection. Purchased June 20, promise to arrive in 35 days, I received a tracking number and link of the...

Replacing the single cells in the battery pack?

… Since I couldn't get original second-hand cells (and the ones I ordered from China were the same thickness but longer by a few centimeters and could not be used), it was time to find another solution. I've been seriously looking online for a used whole battery or module, only managed to find...

Got new E4000 battery and BMS for Soul 2015 under warranty

Hi, I have one quick question. Can someone compare this 2 cells E4050 from Kia 2015 E4300 from Kia 2018 My understanding is that they are same capacity 40 Ah, and if that is true, are they compatible to put together? Thanks

Replacing the single cells in the battery pack?

Why did this happen? Well the obvious answer is that while I was driving from the garage to the house without reading half of the cells, the BMS couldn't know how the voltage in them was changing and I wasn't driving slowly 🥺. Probably the cells in the first module took the most load, they were...

Replacing the single cells in the battery pack?

After a few days, when I started the car again, I was no longer able to drive it for 20/30 seconds. So the battery was completely not recognized and the car in cut off mode. Only thing I could do was open the battery again and see what was happening. Of course now I was on my parking at home...

Replacing the single cells in the battery pack?

Just to correct myself, the cell number 1 was the bad one, not 96. It was long time ago and I just remembered that was first/last in the line. But glancing at my previous posts I’ve realized my mistake.

Replacing the single cells in the battery pack?

Hi everyone. Long time no see ;) I’m still the owner of the same 2015 Kia Soul and didn’t use it since January, sitting on my parking and collecting dust. I’ll try to give you my story in few posts over next few days/weeks. First to explain what’s happened with my “great” idea off getting rid of...

Replacing the single cells in the battery pack?

Really good question IanL, which made me look back in to my OBD data before trying to make my own opinion on this issue. My trip to work (50km) after all night plugged in with 240V/2kWh charging cable. Knowing that at work I charge 8kWh from 40% to 100% tells me that my battery can take...
