Setting up Torque to show BMS data

I should have backed this with more data, sorry about that. When I did 30000km service this spring, they let me borrow a MY2016 demo car, and I still have the log files from that one.. :geek: One interesting sequence is when I started the L2 charging, the logger happened to catch a...

Setting up Torque to show BMS data

Thanks for the data, but I'm sorry, I don't see anything in my data that supports this. Here is from the log from where I checked different charging settings of my EVSE cable: SET A/C volt A/C amp 2102=>21:5-6 9 bits ================================================ 6A 230,6 5,7 12CB 4811...

Interesting news at OVMS ! New updated version 3.0 in Q1.

Setting up Torque to show BMS data

It looks good to me, although I don't have Torque to test myself.. This made me think about the way Torque probes for the data. I have noticed that in the Torque files the address header is always given by, for example, 794 in the case of OBC, and not 79C which is what I use in my logger...

    Soul Spy?

Also news on the LDC tab. Pretty sure there is a temperature in byte 5. It seems to be offset with +100, so subtract 100 to get the LDC temperature.

    Soul Spy?

I have added a tab in the Soul Spy spreadsheet - OBC_Data I Think the Pilot signal Duty cycle is in the OBD data. Also three values that seem to be temperatures.

    Soul Spy?

Interesting! And instead of deterioration values, it seems they now present the actual SOH (min, max both = 03E8, i.e 100%). The resolution would also be less than what we have in the Soul though, but 1% should be enough.

    Charging Fault error.

Another report one week ago on the Norwegian forum. OBC in 3 months old car stopped working and was replaced.

Somes graphics about Chademo Charge Station.

No, it's the charger equipment that is stress tested. It doesn't matter if the Chademo is capable of outputting 500V, 600V or 2000V - the charging voltage will always be a result of the charging current. The car requests current, the charger delivers current. Voltage is only a limiting parameter.

Just Joined - Here's My EV Story

Actually, it seems that you haven't reset the energy meter for a very long time - if ever? What you see is, as quoted, the average consumption since last reset of the energy meter, but I don't think it would make any difference to delete the history. There is only one global energy meter, not...

    BMS software update

Thanks for the data, ZuinigeRijder! So, this shows it's not just the average of the extremes, but probably the average of all 96 cells. This in turn means that a big PID structure (like the cell voltage structure) should be present somewhere from the BMS, but we still don't know how to find it...

    BMS software update

So you already predicted this? Really nice! 8-) Well, it's most often the simple explanation that is the correct one.. :) And of course, what is important is whether or not this curve will be linear. Future will tell.

    BMS software update

The odometer was at 48978 km, previous SOH reading was at 45267. Between these readings I had several deterioration changes too, ups and downs. Date Odo (km) SOH (KDS) MaxDet MinDet 27/9 45267 99.2% 11.5% 10.0% 3/11 48978 99.5% 11.2% 9.7% I will certainly ask to get...

    BMS software update

Today I had my car to the workshop for the steering recall (which I think most of the world did last winter :? ). Took the opportunity and asked for another battery report. The SOH had changed from 99.2% to 99.5%. So I checked the deterioration numbers from these two occations and think I may...

    Battery Ageing Model

I have now had my car for 18 months and 48000+ km. It's also 1 year since I started collecting data from the BMS. Here's a graph of the deterioration values for one year/30000km. [I just linearized the average of first and last values to get a trend line.] Note that most of the data is from...

    NEED HELP!!

Are you sure about this? I know my car is always charging the 12V battery as long as the HV battery is charged. I.e. the blue LED:s are indicating charging. The same is true when a scheduled heating is in progress, even if the HV battery is not charging. This is because those actions need fully...

    BMS software update

It's accurate, I just had noted the odometer value before a trip today, then I made the final reading after I got home. I actually already use some of these ID:s in my logger data: 200, 4F0 and 653 contain the DTE, Odometer and Outdoor temperature, respectively. It's very nice to have them...

Setting up Torque to show BMS data

You don't have the heater. Those two are temperature sensors attached to the heaters. They show the actual temperature, regardless if any heating power is on or not. Works perfectly well in my car. Normally they display the overall temperature inside the battery box, so if they are always 0 they...

    BMS software update

I made a new tab in the spreadsheet, named "C_CAN_Compare". Some ID:s don't respond, but it's a starter..
