Is this a good buy? Also, extended warranty question (Canada)

I don't know about the warranty in Canada, but can't a dealership check that for you? At least over here you can call them with the number plate and then they can find in their systems the status of the warranty, if there are still recalls open and so on. 55 km one way should be OK, I think. My...

Battery Recall for cars with E400 high-voltage battery.

On the page https://www.ksoulev.com/quick_charge_description_and_operation-3028.html it says the very first quick charge is limited to 84% and subsequent charges are up to 95%. So perhaps the next time it will charge more?

    Trouble charging with 220 volt

My car is also European with a J1772 but from 2014. I don't have the manual handy, but I know for sure that the connector isn't locked by my car when the car doors are locked.

    Trouble charging with 220 volt

Nice! I didn't know J1172's could be locked by the car too.

    Trouble charging with 220 volt

That depends on the socket in the car. Locking works only on the European / Mennekes / Type 2 style sockets. The American / J1772 / Type 1 sockets don't lock. Those might be locked with an external padlock so the latch can't be opened.

    Trouble charging with 220 volt

My OBC (= On Board Charger) was replaced a few years ago. Supposedly I was the first one in my country and later on it turned out to be a notorious problem with the Soul EV. It's probably covered under warranty when you're not over the time or distance driven limits. Things you can try to rule...

Battery Recall for cars with E400 high-voltage battery.

Those are two separate issues. I'm pretty sure I've had a blinking display in my dashboard too, but that was when the car was only a few (maybe even one?) years old. There were lots of other with the same issue, see here. I didn't post it here and can't find anything quickly about this on other...

Limiting the charge to 80% - Level 2 Charger?

The charging point doesn't receive the battery percentage when charging over AC. So it can't limit your car (or any other) to a specific percentage. You could build some logic where you can input your battery percentage and then it can calculate (with a margin of error of course) how much kWh...

    Emergency use of EPB

I don't think it explains what VDC means, or at least I don't understand what they're referring to. I think you're talking about the Slow Ramp Up (SRU), am I right? It does say this only works when the VDC has failed. So if that isn't the case I don't see why this would activate. My point...

    Soul Spy?

The strange thing is that when the BMS values got reset after the BMS firmware upgrade it took the car less than two weeks to get back on the low range it was before. I find this happens with a normal battery too. In the winter the range drops far more quickly than it'll rise in the spring. I...

    Soul Spy?

In the beginning I did it a few times to get better readings right after I had gotten the new battery, I'd say about 5 times. But since it did not seem to improve much I wasn't inclined to keep trying every few days because I needed to drive around aimlessly to get that low. I think I didn't go...

    Soul Spy?

I got the new battery on August 16th and that was about 7k km ago.

for SOH % is torque value correct ? or SoulSpy ?

SoulSpy doesn't work with all the OBD dongles that Torque does. A very quick but slightly inaccurate way to determine the SoH is to find your maximum deterioration. Then deduct that number from 110. So for example if your max. det. is 20 your SoH would be 110 - 20 = 90%

Best way to drop 1% SOH on 2016?

My English is nto good enough to know what you mean with CPO and searching for it only returns things like Chief Petty Officer, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra , Compulsory Purchse Order and other things that don't seem to apply. Anyway, as long as the guarantee rules are kept you should be good...

Reset BMS by removing BMS fuse

I've had more or less the same experience as you did. Finally, after about two months, the car actually knows that is has got a new battery. I don't know why it took so long. I did get the new software for the BMS before. At that time he car was reset back to the normal factory readings. Of...

    Pedestrian Warning System

I'm not sure what list you're referring to. In my manual the VESS is mentioned in the "green chapter" on page 47. There is a whole chapter about safety (chapter 3) but this only mentions things for the safety of the driver and passengers like seats, seatbelts, airbags and so on. Other safety...

How to estimate SoH for Buying Used

I don't know anything about iOS but it seems strange there isn't an OBD-II app for iOS that you can use to get the readings from your car. It might not have the easy SoH number that SoulSpy displays, but if you can access the underlying numbers in another app you can calculate the SoH yourself...

    Pedestrian Warning System

You can hear it best with the radio off and windows open and driving slowly. Once you know how it sounds you might hear it even with the window closed. Of course, when you have the radio on it is more difficult to hear. The best way to test is ask someone else to listen outside of your car or...
