2016 Soul EV @ 3rd day: "Check EV System" light on. What the

Good news, finally fixed! The battery monitoring module was at fault therefore the the blower fan did not start in time. Defective part was ordered on Monday, delivered, installed, verified fixed on Thursday. Wish it was problem free but at least they do know what they are doing.

How much to get an EVSE installed by a certified electrician

Got a quote from Bosch and it is ~CAD$600. :o How much did it cost you? Or did you DIY?

Little things owners have noticed on the Soul EV

    - ultra low roll resistance tires have quite crappy traction - light sensor somewhere would turn GPS from day mode to night mode if, e.g. going through a tunnel or underground parking. - the fastest way to accelerate from a stop: get the car rolling first, then floor the accelerator quickly and...

Level 1 and 2 Charging Module Failure ..

I too have a charging module failure. Check EV light came on from time to time and they finally narrowed down to the charging module. ~_~ I'm now driving a Kia Rio loaner. They say it will take a week to have the part delivered (from Korea I guess).

Little things owners have noticed on the Soul EV

Obviously you have not tried others. This one from Kia's is already one of the fastest. My friend's Audi won't even show the backup camera until it's fully booted up, so I am glad Kia at least tried to bring it up right away w/o the guidelines.

Chargepoint EVSE reported charging at 5.6kW

Got an answer from ChargePoint: :geek:

Little things owners have noticed on the Soul EV

2 more smart things I've noticed. - Navigation instructions are only piped through the front speakers, and music stays put at the rear. Smart! - If you shift to R before the system completes booting up, you'll still see the backup camera but no guideline. Once fully booted up, the guideline...

Anyone try and charge up at a NISSAN dealer yet ?

Challenge accepted! Although it's right in front of a "DO NOT BLOCK" sign, they kindly let me charge it. I only charged there for ~10 minutes though.

    110V vs 220V in efficiency?

Given that charging time doesn't matter, would the 110V charger that comes with our EV be more efficient (slower, less heat?) or would a 220V EVSE be more efficient in charging up the EV battery? I wonder.

2016 Soul EV @ 3rd day: "Check EV System" light on. What the

Soul EV returned to my hands, but not fixed. They weren't able to reproduce it consistently and they rather have me test it for them and asked me to bring it back to them if the light comes on again.

2016 Soul EV @ 3rd day: "Check EV System" light on. What the

EV stuck at dealership still (3rd day), and they still have no clue how to fix and awaits Kia Canada for answers. Sigh, well, they got me a courtesy car yesterday, but I MISS MY SOUL EV!

Chargepoint EVSE reported charging at 5.6kW

Yes, at public ChargePoint charger. I guess that's why, I wish I know which one runs at 220V.

Really? why? I don't recall reading about that.

Little things owners have noticed on the Soul EV

Let's come up with a list that are rarely mentioned in reviews. - Electronic Parking Brake will release on its own when the gear is shifted out of P - Electronic Parking Brake can be engaged even if engine has not started - P gear doesn't seem to lock the wheels well, so don't count on it -...

It's at the dealer right now. They are still working on it. Looks like the cooling fan for the battery malfunctions.

2016 Soul EV @ 3rd day: "Check EV System" light on. What the

Warning came back, seems like it comes on right after I stopped charging @ 5.6kWh at a ChargePoint EVSE and started driving.
