What Range and Efficiency Should I Expect? Considering a Used Kia Soul EV

If you can afford it, I'd recommend a 2018-2019 30kwh Soul. The battery is much more reliable than the earlier models. Keep in mind that with Chademo fast charging it is really a neighborhood car. My 2018 reads about 105 miles on a full charge in a New England winter and about 135 miles in...

    2016 Soul EV Range anxiety

If you can afford it, I'd stick with the 2018-2019 with the original 30kwh battery. Their battery durability is far superior to the earlier models.

Car stuck at dealer for 3 months awaiting warranty battery replacement (2017 Soul EV)

I believe you will find that the Kia BMS will shut off fast charging at 94%. It does on my 2018. It was 84% on earlier models.

12V battery in 2016 Kia Soul EV keeps dying

I replaced the 12V on my 2018 last winter because I didn't want my wife to deal with a dead battery. I think anything over 5 years is iffy. So, yes, replace it ASAP. Our EV's take a regular gas Soul battery and it's an easy job.

    Soul not charging to 100% - 2015, 27kWh, 119.072km

For sure be certain that any timed charging settings are removed or disabled. Also I think the OP said 40km. Even a badly degraded battery shouldn't go that low.

    Soul not charging to 100% - 2015, 27kWh, 119.072km

It sounds like the on board charger to me. If it DC fast charges to at least 84%, then it's the OBC for sure.

Car stuck at dealer for 3 months awaiting warranty battery replacement (2017 Soul EV)

I'm guessing that the problem isn't the warranty, it's the lack of battery availability. A warranty does no good when parts can't be had. Thank goodness my 2018 is still humming along on its original 30 kwh battery.

    12V battery keeps going dead

My wife drives a 2018. It was originally driven in March, 2018. So, assuming it is the original 12V and I will be away for a bit, I replaced it. You just don't get feedback when the 12V is about to go on an EV. Better safe than sorry.

    AC Condensate Drain Clogged?

I know this post is old, but I have the same problem on my 2018 Soul EV. The windshield fogs up way too easily, and the Max defrost button is of little help. I suspect the A/C drain is clogged but I haven't found it yet. The underside is almost completely covered. Like the OP, I don't recall if...

    Buying a 2018

I decided quite a while ago that a 2018 or 2019 Kia Soul EV hit the sweet spot in features and price. I live on Cape Cod in MA and have a cottage in Northeast VT. I wanted an EV that could make that 280 mile trip, with the fast charging desert in the Northern 2/3 of New Hampshire. I wanted to...
