    Parking brake button

Mine was replaced by the dealer under an extended warranty as it broke internally. It comes as the block of 3 switches and just snaps in to the console. Google for part number 93766-E4050CA (with parking sensors) or 93766-E4150CA (without parking sensors) - many of the parts sites have exploded...

    Analysis of a replacement battery.

With COVID I'm barely driving it, will be a while before I sort out whether the GOM range is anything like the real range.

    Analysis of a replacement battery.

Dashboard shows 100%, Soul EV Spy shows 2 values, the 100% on the dash and the actual charge level of 95%.

    Analysis of a replacement battery.

I had mine in to the dealer recently for some other work. I'm still on the original battery but part of the work included a BMS update. I just got it to recharge and recalibrate today the updates and I'm seeing a similar range improvement. After the recalibration it showed max deterioration of...

different charger? rear view mirror issue as well

It's going to depend where in the world you are. In Europe the setup is as IanL describes where you need a cable with the two ends. In North America, the normal chargers all have a cable built in to them and you don't need anything else.

Resolved: Heat pump stopped working after climate software update SA427, fixed via Kia Service Action 210031

Here's a link to the actual document https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2021/MC-10191060-0001.pdf It doesn't say what has actually changed, just gives new software version numbers. It's mainly the instructions to the techs on which buttons to press on the KDS to do the update.

Just to confirm, I had the update done on Monday and it was cool enough to verify today - the heat pump is fixed! :D

    Recalls/Technical Servise Bulletins

See the thread in the Technical Discussions forum https://www.mykiasoulev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1554#p11323 TLDR It fixes when the heat pump operates. Kia broke it with an earlier update SA427.

Level 1 vs level 2 charging

While there's no problem with the battery there are a coupe of things to be aware of with level one charging. First if you are preheating or precooling then it may not be able to supply all the power required, so some of your battery charge may be used. Secondly it is not as efficient. There's a...

Resolved: Heat pump stopped working after climate software update SA427, fixed via Kia Service Action 210031

That's promising. I got my new epcu last Monday but the heat pump still isn't running. It's going back in next Monday so hopefully they can fix it this time.

Trying to implement EV battery claim (updated w/ soulEV info)

Lots of short trips really hits the range. I think that a lot of it is the climate control having to get the cabin to the right temperature and then you are stopping driving. The climate control is actually very efficient at maintaining the temperature on a longer trip. I think that you should...

Accelerating as much as possible as often as possible ok?

I think you'll find that most EV owners enjoy this. Here's an ad for the Smart EV that plays on this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1iJJZfB7i0 It's added wear to the battery to be doing high power in and out. In the overall scheme of things you are only accelerating for a few seconds at a...

Trying to implement EV battery claim (updated w/ soulEV info)

Ask them to do a battery State of Health report before doing any BMS update that may be required. The correct procedure is to take the State of Health report first, but many dealers skip this when they see it needs a BMS update. When the BMS update is done it clears out the saved values that...

Range for Fully Charged(?) 2017 Soul

It helps to say where you are. From "13amp household plug" that sounds like you are in the UK, so that would be 240V and mild temperatures. That range does sound a bit low for a UK Soul EV. Is this just the reported range or is this the actual range if you try driving close to that distance...

Alternative tires to NEXEN N Blue EV

There's a big thread on the Leaf forum https://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?t=18857 The Leaf originally came with an OEM version of the Ecopia's that were almost as terrible as the Nexen's that we have, but the consensus seems to be that the retail version of the Ecopia's is a lot better.

Resolved: Heat pump stopped working after climate software update SA427, fixed via Kia Service Action 210031

Ottawa gets hot in the summer, it's going to be more air conditioning than heating soon, particularly during the hours when the dealership is open. According to 2016Electric the heat pump only works with temperature set below 22C.

Resolved: Heat pump stopped working after climate software update SA427, fixed via Kia Service Action 210031

The dealer found an issue in the DCDC converter so they are going to replace that. They couldn't explain to me how that would cause an issue with the heat pump, but Kia wants to replace that first before digging in deeper. So the good news is I'm getting a $6000 5 year old part replaced under...

Resolved: Heat pump stopped working after climate software update SA427, fixed via Kia Service Action 210031

Thank you for that. Mine is going on to the dealer on Monday so that they can see the behavior. Unfortunately it is warming up here so I'm not sure how many more days we will have for then to get to the bottom of this before October. Agree on the software version being European only, but at...

Any news? Do you have the update on your car? Any pointers to version numbers that we can quote to Kia Canada?

Resolved: Heat pump stopped working after climate software update SA427, fixed via Kia Service Action 210031

My OBC died so I had to take it in. They replaced that, plus did the FATC and EPB updates. I complained about the AC and they found the thermal expansion valve was leaking so replaced that and recharged it. My parking brake switch was also playing up (broken internally) so they replaced that...
