Book value on older models of other EV's

My guess would be all of the crazy subsidies in California is driving down the resale values big time ... I looked briefly at the Ford Focus EV and abandon it because the US (California) discounts were around 50%+, with virtually no discount in Canada, so I concluded if they're going to give...

KIA HURRY UP AND SELL THESE IN NEW ENGLAND !!!

That is just sad ... after I posted that, I realized they are also for sale in Ottawa ... several hundred kilometers further North, and even colder than Toronto ... I suppose that reply is also, in part, an indicator of why they are not for sale in other jurisdictions ... staff training is needed.

KIA HURRY UP AND SELL THESE IN NEW ENGLAND !!!

They're offered in a number of countries and areas that are much colder ... Toronto winters can range down into the -20C and lower, and Quebec is often colder. I imagine some of the European countries they are offered in are similarly frigid in the winter. As for heaters etc. they tout their...

More Soul EVs coming in to Canada in Feb/Mar

I heard back from my salesman this afternoon ... I can expect to receive my Onyx/Red EV + at the end of Feb or first week of March ... they must be on the ship heading here! I don't know how many are coming or any other details, but it sounds like there will be a few more in Canada soon!

KIA HURRY UP AND SELL THESE IN NEW ENGLAND !!!

I ordered back in October, before availability, but ordered a Onyx/Red. From what I read, and seems to be confirmed by the Canadian sales, there are 11 dealerships in Canada that sell the Soul EV. Each dealership was given a quota of 2 cars for the availability date, and there were 2 'demo' cars...

Compair EV vs Gas model ? I just drove the Gas

I rented a car a few months ago and managed to get a Kia Soul gas model. Then about 2 weeks later test drove the EV version for about 45 minutes. Space wise, they are the same. I would say the EV model had a nicer drive to it, but unfortunately I drove it mostly city, and the gas model was...

    110 sold in December

That's interesting - that would seem to indicate Kia is only producing on average, about 120 per month for the US market. Number's I've seen reported for other countries are pretty low (10's) ... so it would seem they are producing maybe 150 a month / 5 per day max? That seems to be well below...

Canadian availability of the Soul EV

Interesting! Greg @ Toronto Kia kept talking about getting the Bosch guy to come install a charger - I didn't realize it was included! Thank goodness I returned the one I ordered from Costco last week when it became apparent I wasn't likely to receive my EV+ in December. Did you get one of the...

is there a negative effect on battery longevity each plugin?

I did a bit of reading on LiPo (lithium-ion polymer) batteries - from one of the articles at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium-ion_battery#Charge_and_discharge it indicates the battery should be fully charged at least every 5000 hrs, which would be approximately every 6 or 7 months. So it...

Availability of Black Soul EV+ ?

I have (had?) plans to use it daily from the day I receive it - winter or not. I ordered my winter tires more than a month ago (Michelin XIce 3, which seem to be low rolling resistance winter tires) because they are in very short supply ... they arrived yesterday. I wanted to get my charger...

Availability of Black Soul EV+ ?

I would have hoped Kia would apply some kind of world-wide shipping balance based on initial order date, and not favour a particular geographic area just "because". Seemingly with reports of Soul EVs sitting on lots in the US vs supplying customers who have put money down on a vehicle, they...

    First Couple Hundred Miles

I'm in the Toronto area in Ontario, Canada - we definitely have them here - I test drove one on Oct 23, and that vehicle was delivered to someone on Oct 27. The dealership in Toronto tells me they have 5 more coming - all sold. Ian.

Canadian Federal A/C tax and the EV+ w/Heat Pump

I found the answer myself - it would seem they are exempt! And not just the Heat Pumps, but Air Conditioners in the EV too! From the Canadian Government website publication with the law description: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/E/pub/et/x3-1/x3-1-e.html Goods taxable 5. The following goods are...

Canadian Federal A/C tax and the EV+ w/Heat Pump

I don't know if anyone else has thought to ask, but I was wondering if / why the Canadian Federal Air Conditioner tax should be applicable to a vehicle equipped with a Heat Pump ... it would seem it is more a heating device then a cooling device, and as such would be exempt.

Availability of Black Soul EV+ ?

I heard from my dealer in Toronto that they started or are starting production of the Black Soul now ... he quoted availability of mid/late November, but I should be getting my scheduled date early next week from the EV+ manager.

Canadian availability of the Soul EV

I ordered my Soul EV+ from Toronto Kia earlier this week. In talking with the sales guy, they have an allocation of 2 vehicles for 2014, but are hoping as they sell them, their allocation will increase. They have 1 person (well, 2 now!) with pre-orders. They received a Soul EV on Thursday, and...
