Another approach to upgrading the headlights

Yes, if you have a child help you, their small hands will definitely make the job easier. ):

Another approach to upgrading the headlights

I too was not happy with the stock headlamps (both low and high beams) on our EV's. In part because they don't match the color of the LED's around them, but more importantly because they just aren't very bright. I thought about switching them out for LED's, but given how problematic it can...

IS THE SOUL EV PRE-WIRED FOR A SUBWOOFER?

I know some of you have explored adding a subwoofer in various locations in your Soul EV. But I am wondering if anyone has yet explored the possibility of putting a subwoofer in the space alone the passenger side wall of the trunk where the subwoofer actually goes in the ICE version of the...

    Front Bumper and Horn Replacement

Hi all- Today I successfully replaced the stock horn on my 2016 Soul EV+. I did NOT have to remove the front bumper - just had to elevate the car (using a set of wheel ramps that I bought for $40 at Harbor Freight: http://www.harborfreight.com/solid-steel-auto-ramp-set-68365.html) and then...

Well, it is the answer to your question, is it not?

Tires on my new Kia suck

Have you tried just increasing the air pressure in the front tires a bit? Sometimes that can be an easy (and cheap) fix for for understeer. :)

    Front Bumper and Horn Replacement

Thanks JeJuSoul! I was hoping that in the Soul EV things would be less crowded under the hood than in the Soul Gas, and that one could thus access the horn more easily. Alas, your post confirms what others have said, which is that -- even though the under-the-hood space on the Soul EV is...

    Front Bumper and Horn Replacement

It's been a while since you posted this, but, as a brand new Kia Soul EV owner who HATES the horn, I'm wondering if you ever went ahead with this project. If so, could you please report on how it went. As part of that, could you please tell us what brand and model you replaced the original...

Bad experience with Kia's Emergency Roadside Service

Very sorry you had this awful experience. For what it's worth, I have encountered the same awful service from the road side assistance programs of both Mercedes and BMW. The ONLY service that seems to arrive with some degree of reliability is AAA. I suspect this might be because they have...

Cooled Seat question for someone with a service manual

If you push the seat cooling button repeatedly, you get three different levels of cooling -- you will see three, two , and one blue lights representing the different levels of cooling.

Can I safely charge to 100% with my L2 home charger?

I'm not an electrician or a battery chemist, but my understanding is that the option of charging to 80% is really only there for use when charging at a public level 3 CHAdeMO station, and that's because those stations typically charge a flat fee for charging to 80% and then start charging a fee...

    40 amp vs. 75 amp L2

I am NOT an electrician, but my layman's understanding is that a 75amp EVSE would be total overkill. The Soul EV's maximum level 2 (240 volt) charging rate is 6.6kw/h. A 75amp EVSE can charge up to around 18 or 19 kw/h. Most 30 and 32 amp EVSE's (which require a 40 amp circuit) deliver 7.2...
