Active Eco System button lowers torque by 20%

I guess that would make sense - if you're using 100% of the throttle, you intentionally want 100% of the acceleration.

What's your Real world actual range?

If you're on the standard 36 month / 36,000 mile lease, you've used more than half your miles. Do you plan to turn your car in early or do you anticipate paying per mile above 36K?

What's your Real world actual range?

I take it you bought your Soul, not leased it? Sounds like you have one of the highest mileage Soul EVs in the country!

is it true kia lease doesn't allow 4 normal wear and tear?

That's a terrific - thanks for the link!

    Georgia

My parents leased a Nissan Leaf in Dec 2013. I'd driven the car a few times and talked with them a lot about EV ownership, so I felt pretty comfortable with the idea when I decided this spring to get my own EV before the tax credit expired. I probably could have made a better deal on a Leaf...

What's your Real world actual range?

Oh wow! What area do you live in? Are there charging stations along your route in case of emergencies?

What's your Real world actual range?

True for Atlanta too - more than 30 miles (50 km) of my daily commute is on the highway. The posted speed limit for much of that distance is 65 mph (105 kph) and traffic often moves faster than that. Not good for range, but I'm happy to trade range for a quicker commute.

Canadian availability of the Soul EV

If alternatives like the Leaf are available without a waiting list, I'm curious to know what it is in particular that draws you to the Soul EV enough to wait for months for one?

    Creepy?

My driveway is on an incline, as my parking lot at work, so I assumed that this symptom was due to the 'hill hold' feature that lightly engages the parking brake.

What's your Real world actual range?

I live in an area with rolling hills, I do a lot of high-speed highway driving, and my driving style is assertive. Despite that, I still find it pretty easy to get about 100 miles (160 km) of range, but I'm too impatient to hypermile. I'd love to hear from drivers who have really pushed the...

    Battery Charger

I've had some charging issues when using my Dad's 240v Juicebox (which works fine for his Leaf). Can you post details about the extension cord you've had success with?

Yup, I'm in Marietta. I picked up my Black/Red Soul EV on April 15th.

Adapter for charging at Tesla charging stations?

Congrats on your new Soul! I don't think that such an adapter exists. Tesla's supercharger network is intended only for Tesla drivers, otherwise it wouldn't be free to use.

is this a good lease deal?

Sounds like you're getting a slightly better deal than I did. I'm paying less a month, but I had to pay a lot up front (7.5% sales tax on the MSRP, uggh).

Little things owners have noticed on the Soul EV

Engine braking via the driven wheels has been business as usual for decades for drivers of cars with manual transmissions. You don't not use the brake pedal, you just are able to use it a little less frequently or with less pressure.

How much to get an EVSE installed by a certified electrician

DIY. The electrical panel in our home is surface mounted in the garage so the process was very straight forward.

Going on Vacation - Turn Off 12V Battery with Fusebox Switch.

I never would have thought to do that -- thanks for sharing!

    Rolling in park? Anyone else?

...What? My daily commute is just under 40 miles (60 km) and includes many intersections and much stop-and-go traffic. Using the parking brake at each pause would be silly. The parking brake is for parking. Or for drifting ;)

    Unable to Start Vehicle Message

I've not heard of this one. It may be worth noting that our Soul EVs also rely on a traditional car battery to run some of the basic electrical controls. This battery is easy to find in the engine bay and its health can be checked at most any auto parts store, if making an appointment at your...

    L3 Charging rates

I've not made any measurements, but it has seemed to me that L3 charging toward 80% is very fast but the charging rate slows thereafter.
