2 factor authentication does not work for me at owners.kia.com

My owner's manual tells me to register at myuvo.com, (which becomes https://owners.kia.com/us/en/kia-owner-portal.html as soon as you hit enter). I am not sure how important it actually is, but it seems pretty important.
Anyways, here is my issue. In order to register, you have to use 2 factor authentication for both my email and phone number. The email is easy, but the website will not respond to give me a code with my phone number. On 2 separate occasions, I used 3 different phone numbers, and asked them to resend repeatedly. Nothing works. My guess is that maybe it's for Americans only, and will not work for Canadians? Is there anyway to bypass this issue? Maybe it's not even worth the trouble, if anyone can tell me that the website is useless then I will not pursue it any further.

Can anyone advise me on what I might be doing wrong?
Oh also, I am new to this, not sure if I posted this to the right category, feel free to criticize me if I am doing it wrong.

Please write more on whether your UVO actually works.
No one has written about it here for years.
It was a minor topic back in 2015, but I haven't heard much about it since.

The UVO connection in the US was a 3G service using Verizon.
In the U.S. cellphone carriers discontinued 3G service in 2022.
I don't know about Canada.

I actually don't know what a UVO is, what the acronym stands for. I am only trying to follow the advice written in the manual. So you are implying then, that it is not really something I should worry about?

Kia re-branded this 'Kia Connect' a few years ago.

The service gives you an Internet connection through a SIM card at the back of the navigation screen.
In theory this connection gives you the following services -

Remote Door Lock/Unlock, Remote Horn/Lights, Remote Start with Climate Control, Car Finder
Stolen Vehicle Recovery, Vehicle Slowdown, Vehicle Immobilization, Panic Notification, Alarm Notification
Valet Alert, Geo Fence Alert, Speed Alert, Curfew Alert.

In practice the quality of this software was very low. I had a two year free trial. I tested some of these features once and was unimpressed.

Ok, thanks to your input, I was able to figure some of it out on my own, and will answer my own question (although I may still not be describing it properly). Apparently it was discontinued everywhere because 3G ended, and it seems it's not really necessary anymore because you can do all that it used to offer through bluetooth. I still don't know what the letters UVO stand for, the wiki page talks about it but never really defines it.

In Canada the Rogers network sunsets 3G on 7/31/2025

For our cars there is no possibility of remote connection using Bluetooth unless you attach a 3rd Party device that is always on. Even then there is no real possibility of controlling the car. The best functionality that exists is OVMS and all that can do is unlock the doors.
