Hoping the next update includes 'Drive Mode' settings.

When I drove the Hyundai Ioniq EV in March I reported that navigation was almost identical to the Soul EV.
In fact because it was so similar I didn't bother to take photos of all the screens. After all it was the same.
I regret that now because I don't have the English screens to show you.

Here is the March Ioniq EV's 'Electric Vehicle' menu screen - there are 6 options.

And to compare here is the Soul EV's menu screen - there are the same 6 options.
(You get exactly the same 6 if the language is switched to English.)

I test drove the Ioniq EV a few days ago and noticed that a new option has been added,
Option 7: 'Drive Mode Settings'

Touching that option leads to this page

For each of the four 'Drive Modes' (Eco, Normal, Sport, Default) you can adjust 3 settings.

I am hoping that a future update to the Soul EV will include touch screen options like these. At the moment we have two regen modes 'D' and 'B' accessed from the Gear stick. And two 'Power Saving' modes 'Eco On' and 'Eco Off' accessed by pushing the Eco button. There are also the three steering wheel modes 'Normal', 'Sport' and 'Comfort' accessed by pushing the 'Flex Steer' button on the steering wheel. Integrating all these modes into a single clever package like the above is in my mind a big improvement. Even if the majority would never use it.

ooooh, good ... that it's similary to the modes in the BMW i3 that it decrease A/C and max speed, too. :)

The Q3 2016 Software Update for the Korean Soul EV is now out. Sadly it does not include drive mode settings. The only new page is in the Navigation menu under GPS settings.

I hope the next update returns the range bar in the navigation screen.

I have to wonder why such useful features get removed. With a trip with several waypoints the driver has to look at the distance on the GOM and pull up the waypoint list and compare the distances to determine the probability of reaching the destination. Before I could glance at the main navigation screen and know if I would likely need to charge along the way. Why don't OEMs get and take feedback from users who regularly use their things? If I could go back to the older software I would for just this feature alone. The other thing that was removed was folders for personally entered addresses. This was also very useful. Their database of charge stations is outdated and so hard to navigate that I would put in the ones I use regularly in one of the folders I labeled Charge Stations. Now I have to sift through all addresses I've entered which is a chore and hardly worth the hassle. The usability of the navigation side of things is really horrible for someone who uses it regularly.

Just checking. Have you turned the range bar feature on.

Thank you, I finally found it today when I went beyond 25% SOC and the car started bugging me every minute! It took me what seemed like forever to find what menu to change it in. In looking for where to change the warning interval I found the range bar feature. :)

Why isn't this accessible in the navigation menu in addition to the EV menu?
