My 2020 has the coolant light issue for 4 years. It was mostly seasonal, starting in spring when I used fast charging and the coolant fan would kick in, then with summer heat it came in any time I charged, then back again, stopping when the snow started flying. I received 2 flushes, and the sediment removal recall, and they added 0.5l of fluid lost in the sediment removal. It came in a few times intermittently after all that, but has now stopped, for about 3-4 months. And since we’re in the middle of a hot spell, I suspect it may not come back. This car has been a bit voodoo since the start, the fat charging wouldn’t work for the first 6 months and then started to work like there was nothing wrong with it, and this, the self closing doors that bite legs. All weird things that Kia can’t it won’t fix. I think I’ll be moving to the model 2 if/when it comes.

No call but light went out never received a call
Have a 2020 Kia Soul EV, with the same intermittent Refill Coolant over the last year. Went to a new dealership yesterday as I had no solutions from our normal dealership and the warranty is up shortly. The new service department found the water pump to be about 70% blocked. Getting a new water pump under warranty.

What dealership did you take it too? No call back.

Hi, I took my 2020

Hi,
I have a 2020 Soul EV and have been getting an intermittent warning to refill my coolant. The coolant level has not changed since I bought my car new. The service department at my dealership - Applewood Langley say it is a known problem but they haven't come up with a fix yet and to call back in a month. Monitoring my coolant level in the meantime. Does anyone have any knowledge about this?
I have the same car as you. I took it in for annual servicing. They said they filled with coolant. But ever since I got it home I have the Refill Coolant warning. That's been going on for about two months. I continue to drive with it and just hoping nothing weird happens. I have checked and the coolant container is at it's maximum. So, it is full. I just assumed they didn't reset the coolant refill button.

Hi all,

There is a recall for the Refill Coolant message - I brought mine in two weeks ago. All they did was a coolant flush apparently. It takes them about 3-4 hours. On the invoice it says it could take up to 8 hours if debris is found during the flush… 🤔

My wife has the same vehicle and was just told that her appointment was cancelled due to KIA investigating if a flush is all that needs to be done OR if it’s a bigger issue as first assumed. 🤷‍♂️

It would be interesting to hear from other EV Soul 2020/21 drivers…
I have the same problem. It only started after I took it in for servicing in May. Now I have the Refill Coolant warning on all the time. I continue driving my car around Toronto. But have to go on the highway up north tomorrow and am wondering whether this will be dangerous.

I have been told that Tuesday the 09th July I will be getting a call.
The light would go out after a couple of hours before, but now on all the time.
If I get a answer, I will post again.
Do you think it is safe to drive about 300 k on the highway if this light is still on?

Kia Kelowna told drive it for now they are stumped.. Downloaded the error and sent it off to the specialist to investigate.
They also check if there was a air lock in the system. The next day it disappeared, after 12 hours in the off position.
Fast charging only,this happens sofar
Hi, in May at annual servicing my coolant was flushed as per recall. Ever since I have had the Refill Coolant warning. I never had it before. A service agent at Kia just told me he thought it was a sensor problem. I told him I was going on a road trip and was worried. He said I would be fine. So, I sure hope I will be fine I don't want to get stuck in the middle of nowhere with an overheating car.

I’d be shocked if it was that simple. I’ve had 2 air bubbles removals, the 4 hour sludge removal and no success. I can’t imagine they managed to forget to press a button. The dealership seems to take a “well we tried something and we don’t know what to do next” attitude. This is why I think I’ll be getting rid of it in the future.
