The bottom sectors of the GOM flashing has been seen since the Soul EV first came out. It seems to be just a harmless bug in the GOM, not related to 12V battery. I've had it happen with a 12V battery that was fine.

Kia will only take the SoH from their own GDS tool run by their dealers as proof that the battery needs replacement. What the Soul Spy SoH will give you is an idea of whether the dealer is likely to agree that the battery needs replacement.

There is no DC charger on the car - the DC charger is what you plug in to. It talks over a CAN bus connection directly to the BMS and the terminals are connected directly on to the battery. A faulty BMS including bad monitoring such as fanbanio had is a strong possibility.

The BMS update reset your cars knowledge of the battery pack so it defaults to a perfect battery. Once you have driven and charged it enough times then the BMS will relearn your battery and should give you a realistic range again.

It's the EPB firmware update talked about in this thread, RC132 is just the recall number for it here in Canada. I don't know if my dealer missed it, or I was just unlucky in taking my car in for service a day or so before it was made available here in Canada.

RC132 is the recall number here in Canada.

I just checked and it shows RC-132 is needed on my vehicle, so no idea if that is new or if the dealer messed up.

There was also a BMS firmware update to fix pre-heating in extremely cold conditions (below -20C I think), that may help if you are having issues.

I just had my car in for service here in Canada and the recall didn't show up, they didn't know anything about it at the dealer.
