    Soul Spy?

I changed the spreadsheet so it uses signed bytes and also doesn't lose characters when a conversion from Hex to Dec is done. Can I send it to you so you can update the file?

    Soul Spy?

So it should read -3 A? That makes sense. The climate control was starting to work and in fact the car displayed the "charging will take longer because the climate control is on" warning. It says something like that, I don't know the exact message by heart.

    Soul Spy?

As you know I have bought more or less the same kind of car as you. I have driven a bit more though. My odometer says 22038 today. I also have a Konwei OBD dongle. At last I have found some time to get a few readings. This is what I got yesterday (when the car was charged and plugged in)...

What are you all doing for winter mats

Yeah, I noticed that too. However, the mat for the cargo area is specifically for the Soul, so I assumed they would have specific Soul mats for the passenger compartment too.

What are you all doing for winter mats

Around a week ago the Kia site in The Netherlands has added several accessories they did not have before. You can see them here (in Dutch): http://www.kia.com/nl/modellen/kia-soul/accessories/ If you choose "protection" you can see the mats they now offer. For the interior you can get these...

    Range from 100% Charge Dropping

Yes, unfortunately our country does not look like this... In my case it would be more helpful to turn it off. Unless it is in the middle of winter and actually cold to prevent freezing. Last winters were very mild. Here the temperature has been rising a bit (which it should not do, but still...

PlugShare better than the Soul on board system?

In The Netherlands I never use the on board system. It is outdated and doesn't show half of the chargers that are there and lists other which are not present (any more?). Besides PlugShare I use The New Motion app or the ChargeMap. I have tried Open Charge Map thinking it would be something...

    Range from 100% Charge Dropping

As far as I know this does not reset the range meter; it should calculate the range using the last 20 (or something) trips. So if you ahve someone who drives fairly fast -even once in a while- it will get your range down. In my case it actually worked the other way around. When I got the car...

What's your Real world actual range?

Impressive! What was your actual speed (approx)? So far my furthest drive was 155 km (with 20 km remaining). That was mostly 90 km/h on the highway (and about 25 km at 120 km/h) and a lot of traffic jams when I started (slow driving. stop and go). Mainly when I start the car it says I can...

    Soul Spy?

In Europe the normal household voltage is 230V. The normal outlet charger that comes with the car takes 10A which is 2.3 kW.

    Winter in Toronto

My usual schedule to work is so predictable I just use the pre-scheduled heating. I know the car can run the climate controls when plugged in. For example when you're in the car waiting while fast charging. I never tried this with a normal charge but I can't imagine why it wouldn't work. Even...

    Winter in Toronto

In my car sometimes it does this too, sometimes it'll only turn on the heat. It hasn't been that warm that I saw it only turn on the airco. I guess that the airco gets turned on to remove some humidity from the air, but I don't know for sure. When I think it is not needed I just push on the...

    Free Map updates?

In The Netherlands you get the map update free when you go in for the annual maintenance interval. That said, I don't like the navigation of the car much. Because the update is so infrequent it is outdated and not very helpful. So I use either a separate navigation device or (mostly) my phone.

    Solar Soul

Nice setup you have! My solar panels are way older and a lot less, but I still love it :)

Share your service experience at non EV-certified dealer

Too bad that there isn't an official Soul EV dealer closer by. I hope you can find another EV that can get service around your location!

    Soul Spy?

You have to be present to connect to a Bluetooth dongle. But often the pincode is 0000 or 1234 (and not changeable) so in fact it is not a good idea to keep such a dongle connected either. Unfortunately my cheap dongle is somewhere in between China and here so I have not been able to test...

Level 1 charger in the rain.

The Europea version is IP55. So raining should be no problem. You can read about the IP rating here. I'm assuming the USA version is the same, but you can check on the back.

Share your service experience at non EV-certified dealer

I'm not in the USA, but local KIA dealer is not EV certified. Before I got one I did not know you can only get the car at some dealers. The local dealer told me that he did not sell the car. When I asked him about maintenance he said he would also not be able to do any maintenance on it. I did...

How do I make the lawyerese babble on my touchscreen stop?

It goes away without my phone too, so it's not that. It lasts about five seconds, after I start driving.

    Bosch evse

Use the Bosch one at home so you only have to plugin your car and not the OpenEVSE as well.Keep that one in the car for charging while traveling.
