Hi, fellow Canadian (from Alberta) here. Thanks for the real-world / real-time review, and congratulations on your new car. I'm thinking about getting a Soul EV too. Kia's offering with it's 27kWh useable capacity battery looks like a great choice.
Leasing makes total sense, however we don't have any subsidies in Alberta (yet) so that $8400 rebate that's been subtracted from your lease isn't available to me. For that reason, I'm probably going to wait until some used 2015's show up on dealer lots and import one from the US - assuming the CAD/USD rate improves.
Because I'll be purchasing instead of leasing, the cost of replacing the battery will be factoring in my decision. I'm hoping that Kia's replacement battery pack isn't $10,000 or more.
