I tried searching in the forum, but have not found anything related, I apologize if this is repeated.

My wife who usually drives the Soul came home on Friday and reported to me that the car "smelled like bleach" on her 6-mile drive home. I went down to the garage to investigate, and our garage/basement smells like we have an indoor pool and don't know how to chlorinate properly. I move the car outside for the night.

We took it in on Saturday, and on the way I smell it in the cabin. The dealership cannot see anything leaking, nor can the recreate the smell. They ask if I can wait until Monday so one of the EV techs can take it for a longer drive.

They are now looking at it again and have still not been able to replicate this issue.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm hoping that this is a simple fix, as my wife is pregnant and we'd like to not subject her to anything potentially dangerous.

this smell is the liquid product used to wash the carpet of a car.

I mandate a professionnal cleaner (factory) to wash my car every 3 months and my carpets are cleaned with this liquid product (and smell) with a liquid vacuum.

hint : use the programmable temperature in your car and keep open a small part of the windows (all 4 windows) in your garage.

use this process 2 times per day for 4 days.
use a hot temperature (like 25°C instead of 22°C AND WITH THE DEFROST of windshield, it activate the A/C even with HOT TEMPERATURE scheduled) for this scheduled temperature.
Scheduled temperature can only work for 30min MAX.

If you have this car for the first time, the smell is logic.
It's the smell of components in the factory (and 30-45 days for polymer glue to expulse chemical component of this fusion in the air).

Other explanation : poor quality pollen filter (in the glove compartment) ... i have already this reaction in a car (this smell, too).
