I HAD A 08 CIVIC cng AND IT FELT LIKE i WAS DRIVING A TANK. THIS SOUL IS A HUGE UPGRADE FOR ME. The downside is range anxiety. I have a 76 mile round trip commute. I think/hope it will be ok. It is 2/3 freeway.

76 miles in itself should be fine, but doesn't leave you much cushion for running errands after work. Have you checked PlugShare to see if there are any places to charge at/near your workplace in case you need it?

Is your freeway driving often in rush hour traffic, or at highway speeds? EVs lose efficiency as speeds increase, so your range at a 70 mph average will be shorter than your range at a 40 mph average, for example.

Wow that's a helluva commute. Did you buy or lease the car?

This commute doesn't leave you much wiggle room for battery degradation or extreme temperature days.

Keep in mind that the increase of drag is not linear as speed builds, I believe it's cubed. So going from 60 MPH average to 65 MPH average creates much more drag (and consumes much more charge) than going from 55 to 60. Also, heating/cooling the seats and steering wheel consumes dramatically less energy than running the HVAC system.

Our Soul regularly does a 74 mile commute, typically has 25% left in the tank. It's about half at 60mph and half at 40mph. A/C and heating don't make too much of a dent, but it's summer here at the moment (not too hot, not too cold!)
