Boot/Cargo expansion

We're looking at leasing a Kia Soul EV, and test drove one yesterday. Nice!
However, the boot size is a bit disappointing - especially as we usually have pushchairs and other baby gear in ours.
I did have a close look at this, and under the boot floor is a storage 'basket' for the power cables etc, which can easily be removed.
I was wondering about replacing this with something with a lower profile and effectively dropping the floor of the boot. Anyone else thought of doing this?

You have an exhaust fan for the battery below the black rack.
You MUST choose an steel floor (over the fan) if you delete the 2 stages floor.
